Just Need More Data
Just this morning I shared with my team mate about how I have been praying, hoping that God will give me sign for my vocation. Being a logical person, I’m asking an obvious sign to be coming along my way. She has been a great listener who also tries to give her input, point of view and comment to her best knowledge/judgment. To a certain extent, she agrees on my point that “Marriage life isn’t just about feeling. We need more than that from a partner. (They) Need to be capable as well.” And then this video from the awesome priest: Fr. Mike Schmitz just came in time to tell me that...
“...the discernment journey isn’t always about having this epiphany moment where your life’s purpose immediately becomes clear to you.”
So, maybe...I really need to get more data. I need to understand and see it as a necessary process instead of hoping for an instant answer - or even worse, only taking the facts that only support my want and justify my choice (or fear?). I need to acknowledge that wherever I am now and whatever path I’ve been taking or going to take might not be where I will find what I’m looking for exactly but it surely gives me MORE DATA. And like what my choir director said, “Life is like a sine curve.” Afterall, it’s now up to me on how to process the data with the team I choose: close friends, family and obviously God :)
It might seems like the simplest theory or even trivia that everyone (or believer) should know but you know what? Sometime people just need a constant reminder from someone they look up to so that they will listen and can be more calm!

There was a time when I need to choose
Between an anchor or a boat wheel
It should be a simple choice as it’s just a tea infuser
But somehow I see it like a life
Whether I want to stop and just stay
Or I want to keep sailing across the sea
Until now I’m still questioning
Haven’t been settling for anything
So I guess you can say I’m sailing
With a standby mode for my anchor
I know with all the uncertainties
It will only give us worries
Which is a big enemy of happiness
So instead of busy choosing one or another
I should rather have them both in a balance combination
But as to how I’m going to do it?
I, too, still finding my way...
